KAUSANI CITY GUIDE

Kausani is a dream destination, the vantage point for a breathtaking view of the Nanda Devi mountain range, admist dense pine forests. You can feel the proximity of the snowy Himalayan peaks Trishul, Panchchuli, Nanda Ghunti and Chaukhamba from here and immerse yourself into the scenic grandeur.

Mahatama Gandhi spent sometimes here, while he was writing the book :Anashakti Yoga?, a commentary on Bhagwat Gita. The ?Anakshat Ashram? was founded here by his disciple Sarla Ben (Katherine Heilemen).

What to See

Kasuani is a calm and idyllic resort, far from the madding crowd. Just walk down the hills amidst dense forests. Trek around to9 reach the highest points of the hills, Pinnath (5kms), Burapinnath (5.5kms) and Bhatkot (12kms). Enjoy the relaxing day, get wonderstruck by the starry nights.

Bageshwar

An important of Shiva worship, at distance of 39 kms. According to the Hindu scripture, the sage Markandeya lived here and spent many years, worshipping Lord Shiva.

Baijnath

Just below Kausani, at the height of 1126 mtrs. Baijinath has the famous Parvati Temple.
